We had a very bland experience here on Saturday night. When we arrived they told us they had no ales left because of a party two nights previously had drunk them dry. This seemed really hard to believe and meant only the very expensive (£7/pint) Neck Oil was available. Then when it came to the menu, the options were so limited, being nothing like the menu on the outside of the building. Four of our party of five opted for burgers which all looked and tasted at though they'd come out of the freezer, just like the spring roll starter. The only food that was enjoyed was the calamari, but the prices were so high. The service was really slow and one main came out five minutes after the other four. I'm not sure how recently these proprietors have taken over, but they really need to up their game or reduce their prices significantly

This has to be the worst place to go for Sunday lunch in the area. When we arrived at 1pm there was only one couple in there and now we know why.
The service was mediocre, we asked for cauliflower cheese which never turned up. They said they were dog friendly, but we got the impression our 2 Cockapoos were not welcome.
The roast itself was very basic. 2 slices of over cooked beef with 2 (which looked and tasted like) Aunt Bessie‘s Yorkshire puddings. Avoid.

This feedback is intended to be constructive for a pub with great potential.
Sadly, didn’t feel like the food or the service was worth the money and feel really disappointed that we’ve paid over £100 for a sub-par Saturday night meal.
The wine was warm and when questioned we were told the wine was in the freezer. We ordered a dry white wine and received a sweet wine.
The Prosecco was served in a wine glass and again warm.
The starters were tiny portions and nothing homemade. Spring rolls were basic tiny ones out of the freezer and only receiving 4 for £8 with a small ramekin of out of the bottle sweet chilli sauce.
The fish and chips were soggy, with no flavour. Everything was just so oily. The tartare sauce was almost jelly-like and clearly out of a squeezy tube.
The vinegar was served in a ramekin with a tea-spoon and when we ordered a cup of tea we were given warm milk with a fruity tea bag!
We love to support local and were pleased to see this pub open but we won’t be back until some changes have been made towards improving.

we found the pub to be cold and empty and this was a Saturday night about 7pm , I needed to use the toilet and the urinal and cubicle was out of order and it stank of urine it was NOT clean at all that was the mens side I don't know what condition the ladys was in ?. we found the food to be mediocre definitely over priced for what it was , we will not be going again, the staff seemed they didn't really want to be their.
The special's had run out and we asked for a certain drink they wear out of stock of that. Very poor

Surprisingly quiet pub with wingback chairs. Felt like a scene from the Godfather.
Also leather seats in the covered smoking area

Excellent food with great service. Food beautifully prepared and served and the chef was happy to tweak one dish to suit my friend who didn’t like one of the ingredients.
We were surprised it wasn’t busier on a Friday evening which is why I’ve only given 4 stars for atmosphere but that suited us as we were catching up after not seeing each other for some years.

Came on a Saturday to try the new menu and left very impressed! You could tell how fresh the produce was, which made the burrata and heirloom tomato starter - for example - absolutely delicious. The pesto that came with it was probably the best I've ever tasted. The caught-same-day fish and chips was amazing too; beautifully battered fish and the skin-on chips were proper chippy chips and great too.
Having been a Marlow Bottom local for nearly two decades, it is the best food I've known the pub to have. The service was helpful, attentive and friendly too.

Limited menu but food delicious and definitely tasted home made. Particularly good were the rustic chips. Average price for today's values. Nice garden if the evening had been warmer. Bar staff particularly pleasant and friendly. Would recommend

Fantastic new staff, welcoming ambience and heart warming food. It was great to visit this pub again since it was shut. We loved everything, definitely this will soon be our go to place for every weekend. Well done to the team for amazing work.

Very nice pub serving good food in a relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend, and tempted to give it five stars. Could have a better non-meat menu, which is the only drawback for some.
Definitely worth driving the extra mile south from that other place on the Wycombe to Marlow road. Highly recommend.
