Great selection of meat and fish. Very helpful and good advice as well. The battle is to make sure I don't buy too much!!! Update Jan 2024- the meat for Christmas was stunning- turkey to feed 12, gammon, and stewing steak for a boeuf bourgoinonne. The slow cooked beef was tasty and so tender, the gammon was perfect, and the turkey was to die for- my son and father in law said the turkey legs were the best they had ever had. Highly recommended.

Best black pudding ever….. banter hilarious and they know how to cook the fish. Smoked salmon pate excellent, game very good. Been shopping here for years.

The steaks were nice, fish was good but found the server to be unhelpful (man with toro bull I’m left arm), constant undertone of sarcasm with every answer given. I noticed the shop had a lot of banter flowing so could well be “banter” but found him pretty useless, especially when I asked if the shell fish I’ve just purchased will make the car couple journey home in 25+ Heat to his reply was “well it’ll have to won’t it”. Either give top quality service or produce. Not neither.

Carlsberg don’t make butchers, but if they did, they’ll model it on Phil Bowditch! Friendliest folks and terrific quality meats and seafood. Consistently reliable year after year!

Fist time visiting here and wow customer service was outstanding. Such lovely staff. They had so much to choose from. Will definitely be back.

What a find and lovely team / customer service.. choice of fresh meat and fish is really good, catering for bbq, roasting and slow cooking, along with selection of shell fish inc oysters (which sadly had sold out).. Update to review : Mackerel was really fresh and tasty .. Car park has ample parking, and within the car park a greengrocer and bakery .. will definitely be back ..

Best steaks (fillet & Sirloins) in the area hands down - and reasonably priced also. Fantastic selection of high quality meats and fish. Always helpful and cheerful service! For us it’s always worth travelling a bit further to come and get our steaks here.

We got here when they were packing up having driven an hour to get here and they very kindly still served us. Swordfish was fresh and amazing grilled and their rib-eye steak is absolutely fantastic. Worth every minute of the 1 hour drive. Definitely recommend that you come here. Top notch stuff!!!
